Biography
Hi. My name is Andy Rasmussen, Mr. Andy to the Kids. I'm a 2nd Degree Black Belt and one of the Head Instructors here at our school. I've been training in the Martial Arts with Mr. and Mrs. Elrod since February of 2001. Before joinging up with the Elrod's, I studied Hakkoryu Ju-Jitsu.I've earned degrees at a number of colleges including The Culinary Institute of America, The University of South Florida, The University of the State of New York and St. Petersburg College.
I've worked as a Professional Chef, a Financial Analyst and I'm currently a Computer Network Administrator for a Global Insurance company.
I live in Brooksville, FL with my wife, five kids (3 of the kids are Black Belts and train with me here too) 4 dogs, 3 birds, 2 horses and 2 ferrets. When I'm not training, you can find me: Surfing the Web; at the Dojang, or spending time with my Family.
I originally got into the martial arts to lose some weight and become physically fit. I wanted to get some exercise, but instead of listening to music or riding a stationary bike, I wanted to do something productive while working out. Martial Arts is the perfect answer! In
addition, I get to work out with my kids so its a win/win situation all around.
