Biography
Hello, my name is Mr. Tony LoRusso. I have been training at the Clearwater school since January 2006. Aside from my duties as assistant instructor (and Little Ninjas specialist
), I am also a K9 Deputy with the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office. This is where I first met Mr. Steve Elrod. My initial intentions at this school were to sign up my wife, Shannon, and daughter, Angela. During that year of sitting on the sidelines watching them have all the fun I was so impressed with the professionalism and the quality of instruction in such a powerful form of self defense. I realized I was really missing out! Considering my line of work, learning a new form of self defense is probably a good idea.
After training for a couple months I began assisting with the Little Ninja program and was promoted to assistant instructor in May 2006. One of the things that attracted me to becoming an assistant instructor was having the opportunity to “mold young minds” so to speak, and old ones too for that matter. I wanted to be able to have a positive influence on our students, whether it be helping them perfect their techniques or simply talking to them about their day. Also, given my back ground in Law Enforcement, assisting with the Women’s Self Defense Nights and Child Safety Seminars gives me another opportunity to positively impact our community. One thing I noticed immediately about this school was the sense of community and family the Elrod’s promote within the dojang. And to be a part of that is very special to me.
I am married with two daughters and in my spare time (not that there is much of that with TWO daughters!) I enjoy spending time with my family, watching football, playing video games, fishing, and exercising. I also have training in Freestyle Wrestling/Grappling. I look forward to training with all of you as we progress towards our goals. Semper Fi!
